Workspaces and User Roles

Datumo Eval (DE) is built around workspace-based collaboration with a clear Super Admin / Admin / User role structure.
This page provides an overview of the concepts and permissions. For detailed setup instructions, refer to the step-by-step guides linked below.

1. What is a Workspace?

A workspace is a dedicated collaboration space for an organization or team.

Key Features

  • Projects, datasets, and evaluation results are managed at the workspace level
  • Model settings and evaluation metrics are configured per workspace
  • Users can only participate in workspaces they are invited to
  • Access permissions vary depending on role

2. Roles and Permissions

Each workspace assigns roles according to the level of access a user has.

- Super Admin (On-Premise Only)

Holds the highest level of authority as the system-wide administrator.

  • Manage global accounts: create, delete, and administer users across all workspaces
  • Manage workspaces: create or deactivate workspaces
  • Delegate roles: assign Admins to workspaces or revoke User access
Note

The Super Admin role is not available in the SaaS environment.
In SaaS deployments, the initial Admin account is provisioned directly by SelectStar.

- Admin

Acts as the manager of a specific workspace with full authority within it.

  • Manage evaluation projects: oversee projects and datasets within the workspace
  • Manage members: invite users, change roles, or remove members from the workspace
Account Deletion vs. Workspace Removal

Remove Account and Remove from Workspace are two very different operations:

  • Remove Account: Permanently deletes the user from the entire system (Super Admin only).
  • Remove from Workspace: Keeps the account active but removes the user from the workspace member list.
Be careful not to delete accounts unintentionally.

- User

Regular members who can contribute to evaluations and projects within the permissions granted to them.
